Wedding Video Mullinahone and Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel
My wedding video work took me to St Michael’s Church in Mullinahone last week for the wedding of Tanya & Aidan. Mullinahone is only a short drive from where I am based in Cashel, close to Fethard, Clooneen and Drangan. I have filmed quite a few weddings in these areas of late and have many more booked for the summer. My first stop was a call to Tanya’s home, just a short drive from the little village of Mullinahone …. it’s on the back road to Drangan as she described it, to see how the bridal preps were going and sure enough they were in full swing. The hair and make-up were going down well, as was the champagne! Tanya was so cool and relaxed about the day, and the footage of all this was fantastic to capture.
I always recommend to a potential bride to have the bridal preps videoed if only for a short while. I don’t like to be at the bride’s house too early as they have enough going on the morning of a wedding and the best bits to capture are the rushing around an hour or so before they leave for the church.
St. Michael’s Church Mullinahone
When I arrive at a Church location I like to have a look around to find the best point to film from, so as to be as unobtrusive as possible to all, and to meet with the celebrant. On this occasion it was Rev. John McGrath, P.P. A lovely man whom I have met many times before at weddings in the area. Towards the end of the ceremony he complimented both myself and Andrew Mc Dermott, the photographer on being so unobtrusive. Aidan was at the Church in plenty of time with the lads getting their photographs taken while still a single man. The guests were arriving in time and in style, and soon afterwards Tanya arrived looking fantastic along with her father and bridesmaids.
Ormonde Hotel Kilkenny
The Ormonde Hotel Kilkenny is a great hotel to work in. A versatile room with unique ceiling and a range of mood lighting for you to choose from. The ballroom benefits from a sliding partition allowing this suite to host a smaller wedding.
Music on the evening was provided by the very popular band ‘Leap of Faith’ who entertained a packed dancefloor until the very end. Tanya went with my Diamond package as this gives optimum coverage of a wedding day.
