Wedding Video Aherlow House Hotel

Yesterday evening I took  two local wedding DVD bookings for the Tipperary / Kilkenny areas for 2015, which incidentally looks to be another great year. It’s funny the way wedding bookings have changed in the last year or so. Couples often booked a bit nearer the date of their wedding, I guess due to budget constraints of the last  few years or so, but of late they are booking one and two years in advance – which  I’m not complaining about!  It’s great to see there’s maybe some confidence in our country’s economy again.  There is always something nice about a local wedding – working with the people you see every day.  And getting lots of referrals from local  couples, having viewed their completed wedding DVDs , is worth its weight in gold.  Talking about gold, price is not too much of a problem any more when brides or grooms enquire regarding a wedding video package.  I remember not too long ago the BIG question was HOW MUCH??.. Well that’s like asking how long is a piece of string?!  Every wedding  DVD is different as regards the needs of the couple let it be price, the type of package they might want or the amount of coverage.  I have often said to couples my price starts at  €400 and they can build on that and sure enough they do – 90% of them go for my top package, which starts at the Bride’s home and includes a  selection of dances that evening, giving fantastic coverage and huge value for their money.  On the other hand I have lots of weddings over the different borders such as Kilkenny, Waterford, Carlow, Limerick and Cork, and it’s like all wedding venues – it’s nice to visit these place as well and get to know new people at the weddings. Of course getting more referrals  along the way via the internet  is a huge part of business these days but word of mouth is most ingratiating. wedding

Cheep ?

Speaking of local weddings, I was filming  a wedding with  Selina O’Meara on Friday  last in Lisvernane Church just outside Tipperary town.  I met Selina  again just last week in the  Abbey Court Hotel in  Nenagh.  Selina is a fantastic wedding photographer, so quick off the mark and achieving  stunning  photography as she goes.  We were discussing wedding videography and photography and the way things have changed over time – for the better I think as people have become more price conscious and shop around a bit more for better value.  But it’s not always about getting a cheap wedding video or  cheap wedding photographs, you also have to think of the end product, which I sometimes remind clients of.  So by all means shop around, but the cheapest is not always a good idea, after all you will still want to play your wedding DVDs in 20 years time or maybe in 40 years your children will take it out and have a look at the fashions of  2014 /15/16 and so it is of utmost importance to have your wedding day filmed by a professional wedding videographer / photographer.

Edel and Shane wedding by Abbey Video Productions

And I guess that’s why Edel Hanley from Lisvernane chose Selina and myself  to work for her on her wedding day.  Edel  is of course a Tipperary football all star and the little church at Lisvernane was packed with her team mates, family and friends in the glorious sunshine of a May Friday.  Selina took them to Christ the King for the bridal party photo shoot and what a spectacular setting it was!  The day was clear and the Galtee  Mountains looked so near you could almost touch them.  Afterwards Edel and Shane headed to Aherlow House Hotel for a fantastic wedding reception.  Aherlow House Hotel is again my stop next Saturday, so let’s hope for more sunshine!

A little something I have been reading up on of late is  Moposa – see it here on the link  Moposa    ok a little insight to it ….

Moposa wedding planning

Moposa enables you to share more of the wedding details with family and friends both at home and abroad should you wish to  simplify the planning process and save time and money along the way.  Some of the fantastic tools that are provided through Moposa include your own Guest list manager, personal-URL wedding website with online RSVP, budget planner, guest text messaging and ‘drag-n-drop’ seating  planning for the function rooms. You can even import guests from you face book!  I just thought it was a great little wedding  planing & supplier tool.
