About the Companion

About This Independent Guide

The Golden Vale Wedding Film Companion is an independent editorial guide to wedding videography and wedding planning in County Tipperary and Ireland’s southeast. It is written for couples, their families, and anyone curious about how a wedding day becomes a film. Our aim is simple: to be a clear, warm, genuinely useful resource about weddings and wedding films in one of the loveliest corners of Ireland.

What We Are

We are an enthusiast-run guide, put together by people who love this region and love the craft of wedding film. We cover the styles of wedding videography, how to choose a filmmaker, the venues and scenery of Tipperary, Kilkenny, Carlow, and Waterford, the Irish traditions that make a wedding here special, and the practical business of planning it all. Everything on the site is intended as free, informational reading.

Our Independence

This is the important part, so we state it plainly: The Golden Vale Wedding Film Companion is an independent editorial guide. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any wedding videographer, film company, photographer, venue, hotel, or wedding supplier. We are not a business that films weddings, and we do not represent any business that does. Where we mention venues, regions, or suppliers, we do so descriptively, for context and inspiration, and never as an endorsement or a booking.

Because of that independence, there are things this site deliberately does not do:

  • We offer no services and we book nothing. You cannot hire anyone through this guide.
  • We do not sell packages, take enquiries for wedding films, or act as an agent for any supplier.
  • Any pricing mentioned is neutral consumer information to help you research the market — never a quote or an offer.
  • We do not publish portfolios of real weddings or the names of real couples, filmmakers, or suppliers.

Our Editorial Principles

A few simple commitments guide everything we publish:

  • Independent and unaffiliated. We take no bookings and represent no supplier, so our guidance answers to readers alone.
  • Accurate and current. We aim to keep information correct and up to date, and we welcome corrections when we fall short.
  • Respectful of privacy. We do not publish the names of real couples, suppliers, or private individuals.
  • Genuinely useful. We would rather write one honest, helpful guide than ten thin ones.

Where we draw on outside information — on legal requirements, heritage sites, or the wider region — we point you to authoritative public sources so you can read further and verify for yourself.

Why We Built It

Planning a wedding is joyful, but it can also be bewildering, and reliable, jargon-free information about wedding films is surprisingly hard to find — especially information rooted in a specific place. We wanted to make something that celebrated the wedding heritage of the Golden Vale and the wider southeast, explained the craft of wedding videography in plain language, and helped couples make confident, well-informed decisions, whoever they ultimately choose to work with. This region has been a place of celebration for centuries; we simply wanted to add a small, honest guidebook to it.

How to Use the Companion

Start wherever you like. The homepage gives an overview, the articles hub lists every guide, and the regional pages — from Tipperary to Waterford — dig into the local detail. For the wider setting of the region, Fáilte Ireland’s Ireland’s Ancient East is a lovely companion to ours. And if you would like to suggest a venue we have missed or share feedback on the guide, we would genuinely love to hear from you via our contact page. Thank you for reading, and every good wish for the day ahead.
